United Veterans Roofing is a veteran-owned, GAF Master Elite roofing contractor based in Newtown, about 25 minutes from Doylestown. UVR has completed 4 jobs in Doylestown. Below are two of them, a complete GAF roof system on Bogey Circle and a full re-roof of a large colonial and its garage on Estates Drive, with photos our crews took on site.
Recent Doylestown Projects
Complete GAF Roof System, Bogey Circle

We tore this roof off to the deck and replaced the damaged decking we found underneath. Then we installed a full GAF system: WeatherWatch leak barrier at the eaves, rakes, valleys, wall intersections and penetrations, FeltBuster synthetic underlayment over the rest of the deck, and Pro-Start starter strip. The shingles are GAF Timberline HDZ with StainGuard protection, finished with Seal-A-Ridge ridge caps and a Cobra SnowCountry ridge vent. We put in new drip edge, new aluminum step flashing, new chimney flashing and new pipe boots. The yard was tarped during tear-off and we hauled away all the debris. We pulled the permit.
Whole-Property Re-Roof, Estates Drive

A large stone-front colonial on a wooded lot, with two wings, dormers on every section and a separate three-car garage. At our winter inspection the shingles were worn and streaked, and the roof sections had weathered to different shades. We tore off the roofs on the house and the garage, replaced damaged decking, and shingled every section and dormer so the whole property now has one matching roof. Compare the two aerial photos above: they were taken from almost the same spot, before and after.
What We See on Doylestown Roofs
Both of these homes sit under tall trees: tall pines behind Bogey Circle, and mature woods around Estates Drive. Shade keeps a roof damp longer, and the old shingles on Estates Drive showed the dark streaking that comes with it. That is one reason we install GAF Timberline HDZ with StainGuard protection, which is made to resist that streaking, and why we put ridge ventilation on the roof. On both jobs we also found decking that needed replacing once the old shingles came off, so we plan for it in every estimate.

Doylestown Roofing FAQs
- Can you re-roof a large home with several roof sections and a garage?
- Yes. On Estates Drive we re-roofed a colonial with two wings, dormers on every section and a separate three-car garage, so every part of the property now matches. We measure and quote each section, and you get one schedule for the whole job.
- What happens if you find rotted decking?
- We replace it before any new roofing goes down. We found damaged decking on both of the Doylestown roofs shown here. Every estimate we write covers replacing rotted or damaged decking, so it is not a surprise after tear-off.
- My roof has dark streaks. Is that a problem?
- The streaks are usually algae, common on shaded roofs like the ones around Doylestown. On a roof near the end of its life we recommend replacement with algae-resistant shingles. GAF Timberline HDZ with StainGuard protection, which we installed on Bogey Circle, is made to resist it.
- Do you handle the permit?
- Yes. When the township or borough requires a permit, we pull it, and it's shown on your invoice.
- What does GAF Master Elite mean for me?
- Only a small share of roofing contractors are certified as GAF Master Elite. It lets us offer GAF's strongest system warranties, which cover the whole roof system and our workmanship, not just the shingles. We cover Doylestown and the rest of Bucks County, including Newtown, Warminster and Bensalem.
